As a runner for around 20 years, whenever someone asks me for running shoe recommendations that provide stable support for their feet and ankles, there is only one brand that comes immediately to mind.
Brooks.
A long-standing favourite for runners seeking support and comfort, the American brand Brooks is widely known for comfort, reliable daily mileage trainers, and stability systems that are ideal for all levels of runners, from novice to intermediate right the way up to the pros.

This November, Brooks has dropped the new Adrenaline GTS 26 ($269.95), promising trusted stability and a just-right cushion.
The new Adrenaline GTS 26 combines structured support with soft, dynamic cushioning and a secure fit, designed to deliver a smooth and comfortable ride for everyday running.
So how does it live up?

I’ve been running in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 26 and there are many things I’m enjoying about the trainers.
Firstly, the way the $269.95 shoes are formed ensures you remain supremely comfortable and stable whenever and wherever you’re running.
GuideRail Support Technology System in the Adrenaline GTS 26 is designed to provide targeted support and help keep excess movement in check, allowing runners to move comfortably and confidently.
The shoes also feature supremely soft and comfy cushioning in both the forefoot and rest of the shoe, so you’re guaranteed a smooth and steady ride.
An engineered air mesh upper combines breathability with targeted structure for a secure fit.
I also like the flat-knit collar with a heel loop that makes the shoe both easy to get on, and ensures it stays put.
I’ve been enjoying wearing this shoe mostly while I’m out doing easy runs, around 45 minutes to an hour, as I find if my legs are tired from a session or long run the day before, they have just the right amount of cushion and stability.

While the shoes are brand new to the Brooks website, shoppers are already heading to the website to heap praise.
“As someone with flat and wide feet, these sneakers finally feel comfortable for me to run in. I also have plantar fasciitis with walking and running and did not feel the foot pain at all. Really pleased with these sneakers,” writes one happy shopper.
“I’ve been wearing the Adrenaline model for many years now and again they are comfortable with a good fit right out of the box. Even my podiatrist likes the fit for my foot,” adds another.
A third says: “Just got them last weekend and I love them. Support all the way around with great arch support. I work on concrete so these are my go to shoes. They keep me balanced and comfortable. I also use them for walking. I also suffer from plantar fasciitis and the Brooks Adrenalines are the best shoe I have found for the support I need”.

In honour of the Adrenaline GTS 26 shoe launch, Brooks are throwing a massive event with The Athlete’s Foot on Friday 13 November at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Approximately 100 guests will attend and wear test the Adrenaline GTS 26, which will be previewed via Sunrise throughout the week.
Following the event, there will be breakfast and coffees, and guests who won their tickets via Sunrise will be treated to hot laps.
